Information we collect
We collect information you give us when you inquire or become a client, including names, email addresses, phone numbers, mailing addresses, story details, photographs and documents you upload, and payment information processed by our payment provider (we do not store full card numbers on our servers).
If you consent to interview recording, we collect audio or video of those sessions and notes derived from them.
Our website may collect standard technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages viewed) from our host. We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics pixels on this draft site.
How we use information
We use personal information to respond to inquiries, deliver the memoir service, print and ship books, communicate about your project, improve our process, and meet legal obligations. Interview recordings are used only to write and fact-check your book.
Sharing
We share information with service providers who help us operate (print-on-demand partners, email and form processors, payment processors, and contractors working on your book under confidentiality). We do not sell personal information. We do not use client interviews or photos to train artificial-intelligence models.
Recordings and retention
We record interviews only with clear consent. After the book is delivered, we delete recordings on request, or retain an archive copy for you if you ask. Project files are retained as needed for reprints and customer support, then deleted or archived per a retention schedule to be finalized with counsel.
Your choices
You may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information we hold, subject to legal exceptions. You may withdraw recording consent for future sessions. Contact hello@sepiaandink.com (placeholder).
Children
Our services are directed to adults purchasing books about adult family members. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
We will post updates to this policy and revise the date above. Material changes will be communicated to active clients by email.
